How deep should a pool be for aqua jogging?

I decided it was a good opportunity to give aqua walk/run a go in a standard depth pool approx 1.2 meters. I personally think this is better than the standard aqua jogging in a deep pool where you cannot touch the bottom - and feels like you are going nowhere fast. Being able to touch the ground in the pool allows an excellent range of conditioning.
It was about how a top 3 triathlon Olympian used water for all his run training while he had a stress fracture using the method I mentioned above using a waist deep pool.

Exercising in water that is too shallow can cause increased impact on your joints, while exercising in water that is too deep makes it difficult to perform the moves with good form and alignment.
The proper depth for shallow water exercise would be anywhere from belly button to chest.
However, aiming for water at breastbone depth is probably best.
Exercising in water that is chest depth would be 25-35% impact.
Exercising at chest depth is recommended.
However, it is important to note that you are still bearing about 25-35% impact on your joints.

The depth of water you need for deep water running is determined by your height.
The water level should be at least up to your chin so that your feet are off the bottom of the pool once you put on your buoyancy device.
This usually requires a pool depth that is at minimum about 6″ less than your height.
